Even if your provider collects the sample at their facility, they rely on Labcorp to process and analyze it using our advanced laboratory services. Our couriers make 22 million stops every year to provide timely delivery of testing specimens to our laboratories. If you received a bill from Labcorp, it’s because your doctor ordered lab tests from us, and your insurance may not have covered the full cost of the testing. This may be due to you having responsibility for a co-pay or deductible, or the specifics of what tests your insurance covers. If there’s an error in the amount you were billed, we will work with you, your doctor and your insurance to resolve it. Co-pays and bills from your provider do not include charges for services performed by Labcorp. Before sending you a bill, we file a claim with Medicaid, Medicare and/or your insurance, based on the information provided by your doctor’s office. It can take your insurance company 4-6 weeks to process that claim, which may result in a delay before you hear from us.
