Annette Taylor, MS, PhD, FACMG

Dr. Taylor is a board-certified clinical molecular geneticist and genetic counselor, and an entrepreneur. She holds an undergraduate degree in biology from Dartmouth College, a PhD in microbiology and immunology from UCLA, and a Master’s Degree in genetic counseling from University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. She holds certification in molecular genetics from the New York State Department of Health and is also a graduate of the Inner MBA certificate program for conscious business leadership.

Dr. Taylor founded Kimball Genetics, Inc., which she led for 15 years as President and CEO until the company was acquired by Labcorp in 2009. At Labcorp, Dr. Taylor directs the Esoterix Coagulation molecular laboratory in Englewood, Colorado, and her broader roles include serving as a Medical Science Liaison, and providing strategy and marketing/sales support across several sectors of Labcorp’s business. She also brings connections to a network of key opinion leaders in pharmacogenomics and celiac disease. While at Labcorp, Dr. Taylor has initiated and collaborated on the development of several new clinical assays in the areas of pharmacogenomics, celiac disease, inherited thrombophilia, and early onset Alzheimer's disease.

Dr. Taylor currently serves on the Steering Committee of the STRIPE Collaborative Community as the American Clinical Laboratory Association representative and is a member of Clinical Pharmacogenetics Implementation Consortium (CPIC) and other PGx organizations, as well as the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics. Serving as an expert PGx panelist, she played a role in the 2020 MolDx expanded PGx coverage policy. Over the span of her career, Dr. Taylor has greater than 60 publications focused mainly on research in pharmacogenomics, celiac disease, and Fragile X Syndrome. She co-authored the current ACMG guideline for venous thromboembolism laboratory testing (Factor V and Factor II).
