Labcorp Expands AI-Powered Test Finder to Simplify Lab Test Search for Clinicians

20 Aug 2025

Now available through Labcorp Diagnostic AssistantTM and Labcorp LinkTM, Test Finder enhances clinical decision making and streamlines test selection at the point of care

BURLINGTON, N.C. (August 20, 2025) — Labcorp (NYSE: LH), a global leader of innovative and comprehensive laboratory services, announced today the expansion of Test Finder, a first-of-its-kind generative AI tool. Closely following its launch on Labcorp.com, Test Finder is now integrated into Labcorp Diagnostic AssistantTM, a digital solution embedded within the electronic health record (EHR), and also available through EHR companion platform Labcorp LinkTM.

Labcorp Diagnostic Assistant, designed using Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) standards, is embedded within EHRs to support providers with real-time access to comprehensive laboratory data, insights and self-service capabilities. With the addition of Test Finder, providers can now leverage Diagnostic Assistant to research and identify lab tests and specimen requirements through simple, conversational prompts—eliminating the need to toggle between systems, recall test codes or navigate multiple platforms.

More than 750 health systems and physician groups have implemented Labcorp Diagnostic Assistant nationwide. It was recognized with a 2025 Modern Healthcare Innovators Award for advancing clinical workflow efficiency and improving provider experience.

“Expanding access to Test Finder through a clinician’s EHR builds on the strong momentum and positive customer feedback Labcorp has received since launch,” said Dr. Brian Caveney, chief medical and scientific officer at Labcorp. “Embedding Test Finder into a clinician’s workflow streamlines the process of researching and selecting lab tests from complex menus. By accelerating access to this essential information, we’re enabling faster decisions, earlier diagnoses, and ultimately, better patient outcomes.”

Built with Amazon Bedrock and large language model (LLM) technology, Test Finder was introduced in August on Labcorp.com. Providers enter symptoms, conditions or testing needs in plain language, and based on their input, Test Finder delivers a curated, AI-generated list of clinically relevant lab tests from Labcorp’s menu. The expansion to Diagnostic Assistant enables providers to:

  • More easily research and identify tests directly within their EHR platforms, including Epic, Cerner/Oracle, athenahealth, eClinicalWorks and NextGen
  • View test options alongside a patient’s history, lab trends and other relevant data
  • Explore diagnostic options in real time during patient consultations
  • Access the tool 24/7

Test Finder is also now available through Labcorp Link, Labcorp’s browser-based platform used by providers for test ordering, results and operational support. Link users can access Test Finder through a direct connection to Labcorp.com. Labcorp Link supports nearly half a million lab orders each month and includes advanced features such as add-on test requests, specimen pickup scheduling, supply ordering, and real-time billing assistance.

Test Finder runs on Amazon Web Services’ enterprise AI infrastructure, supporting safe and responsible use of generative AI.
