Medicaid renewals are not automatic.

Here is what you can do to prepare. Medicaid programs have been continuously enrolling people as part of the COVID-19 public health emergency (PHE). The continuous enrollment provision ended on March 31, 2023. Medicaid renewals are not automatic this year and your coverage may be impacted

If you wish to re-enroll in Medicaid, it is very important that you take the following actions:

  1. Update your contact information – Make sure your Medicaid program has your contact information
  2. Check your mail – Your state will send important renewal information in the mail
  3. Complete your renewal – Return your form to avoid a loss of coverage 

If you no longer qualify for Medicaid, you may have another option to get health coverage.

  • Check with your local Federally Qualified Health Center
  • Visit the Health Insurance Marketplace®. Visit HealthCare.gov or call the Marketplace Call Center at 1-800-318-2596 (TTY: 1-855-889-4325) to get details about Marketplace coverage.

Recipients will get their renewal letter in the mail at their normal renewal time. That is usually one year from the date they signed up for Medicaid.

Alaska will return to the regular pre-pandemic process of Medicaid annual renewals beginning April 1, 2023. Update your contact information on the information site.

You can update your contact information in the state of Arizona online or by phone.

  1. www.healthearizonaplus.gov.
  2. Call Health-e-Arizona Plus at 1-855-HEA-PLUS (1-855-432-7587), Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
  3. ALTCS members need to call 1-888-621-6880 to update their address or to get help completing their renewal.

Arkansas Medicaid renewal letters are being mailed through the summer. You can update your contact information in the state of Arkansas online, by phone, or in-person.

  1. Call the Renew Arkansas hotline at 1-844-872-2660
  2. Go online at access.arkansas.gov 
  3. Visit your local DHS county office to update your information (find your local office here  )

California will restart yearly Medicaid eligibility reviews using available information to decide if you or your family member(s) still qualify for coverage. Update your information and sign up for alerts at the California information site.

Colorado will mail the yearly renewal/redetermination materials to you and/or your family members 60 days before your redetermination date. Visit colorado.gov/peak  to update your address, phone number, and other important information, or contact your Local County Services Office .

Make sure your address and phone number are up to date with the Department of Social Services. To update your information, visit ct.gov/UpdateUsDSS  .

  • Logging onto your Delaware ASSIST account.
